  1. Where are you originally from?

Born in South Africa, immigrated to New Zealand when I was 16, lived in NZ for 14 years, and have been in Brisbane for the last 8 years.

  1. What are your favorite hobbies?

Running is my favourite, and triathlon has become a recent interest. I also love baking and holidays with my family.

  1. If you could meet any historical figure, living or dead, who would you choose and why?

King David from the Bible. He was regarded as a man after God’s own heart because he committed himself wholly to God and was open, honest and real. Yet he made big, significant mistakes that cost him awful consequences. We can read about how he was really doing in Psalms as he expresses himself openly to God – his frustrations, his hurts, his fears. His imperfect journey and God’s grace and forgiveness gives me hope for my own journey.

  1. What’s one great book or movie you’ve read or seen recently?

The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul by Deborah Rodriguez.

  1. Where is the most beautiful place you have ever been?

I was completely awestruck by the mountains of South New Zealand. Lake Tekapo would be a top favourite with its pure, vivid aqua colours surrounded by mountains and gorgeous nature.

  1. What is the best advice that you can give to your students?

The task initially may seem insurmountable, but you will get it done. Break it into chunks and plan your way forward. You’ve got this!
