NCC Students Shine in ICAS Reading Comprehension Test

Tuesday, 31/10/2017 Posted by: Marketing

Students in Years 7-12 have, yet again, proved their skills in the ICAS Reading Comprehension Test, by obtaining higher and significantly higher results than the national average in the same competition. Given that our students competed against pupils of the same age or older from across Australia, their achievement is even more praiseworthy. Sixty percent of the students who took part achieved better than Participation with six of these students obtaining Distinction. These students are Ella (Year 9), Lachlan (Year 10), Cheyanna (Year 10), Brody (Year 12) and Erin (Year 12). Though these were our highest achievers, all twenty nine students deserve our congratulations as well as the Year 7 team of teachers, Mrs Arnold, Mrs Bond and Mrs Davies for supporting and preparing the students for this particular test. The key for them as well as those wishing to walk in their footsteps of success is a lot of reading, experimenting and playing with new vocabulary, working hard, and, simply, just giving it ago. Northpine has talent, and the 2017 ICAS results prove it! Join in this success in 2018 by volunteering to take part.
