Mrs Gabriela Davies, Leading Learning Coordinator for Secondary School, and the TLC Learning Support Coordinators supervise these GLAD lunch times sessions in Room 21, during which the nominated pupils from Years 7-12 as well as voluntary students complete due assessments or simply improve their learning habits, by working with the teacher and/or independently, asking questions and negotiating solutions. To help nurture a more relaxed (yet still professional and work-focused space), students are allowed to eat and drink and can choose to work with a mentor who can support them in their search for answers.
Through the collaboration of classroom teachers, the Secondary School Leading Learning Coordinator, Learning Support Coordinators, students, and parents, GLAD has significantly reduced the number of non-submitted and failing assessments.
As a teacher, I have found that the GLAD process enables my students to receive additional support in a positive and productive learning environment. Students receive input and assistance from the lead teacher at the college, and as a result, students improve their work and assessment results.

GLAD provides a place and structure for students to work on academic tasks that they are struggling to complete. It helps students to meet deadlines before it is too late. For me, as a teacher, GLAD has provided a structure where I am able to direct students who need assistance in finalising assigned tasks.
