Year 8 student Sarah Oxford has found success in the sport of Netball. Over the weekend 19-20 May, Sarah and her team won the gold medal at a tournament in Bundaberg. It is the third gold they have won out of four competitions they have competed in this year.
At the end of last year 58 Under-13 girls trialled at Pine Rivers Netball Association. The final selection was narrowed to 27 girls, with Sarah being one of them. Sarah has played in their Division 3 this season and her parents are very proud of her achievements. The girls attended four carnivals this season, three of them being one-day carnivals in and around Brisbane. The girls won two gold medals at the second and third carnivals. Their final carnival this season was in Bundaberg. This carnival ran for two days, consisting of six 30 minute games on Saturday and four 30 minute games on Sunday. The team did incredibly well. They finished in first place and were undefeated the entire weekend.
