Just last week the students of our Year 8 Outdoor Education class at Northpine Christian College were able to climb and take a leap of faith off the top of Mt Ngungun in the Glasshouse Mountains, which has a 50m vertical drop right off the summit.

Outdoor Education is an elective subject in Yrs 8 and 9. It gives students outstanding opportunities to get outside and into nature. The activities of mountain bike riding, orienteering, rock climbing, abseiling and canoeing are just some of the activities that Northpine students have the opportunity to experience.

Students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones in a challenging but safe and supportive environment. This allows them to develop resilience in an ever changing and challenging world.

Well done to all students who took the leap of faith as they backed over the precipice or scaled the rock face in search of that adrenaline rush, and in the process learnt new skills and pushed themselves further than they ever have before.
