Northpine’s own Year 11 Drone Pilot, Lewis Sanderson, recently was invited to compete in the Australian Army Cadet Drone Racing Nationals where he was presented a Gold Level Commendation for his performance.

Following an incredible display of skill at the event’s qualifiers (leaving even the Captain of the Drone Racing Team impressed), Cadet Corporal Sanderson took on his next challenge –  the Australian Army Cadet Drone Racing Nationals.  After only starting his drone racing journey at the beginning of the year, it was clear that drones were Lewis’ calling.  Taking home the title of Army Cadets Champion at his first competition, the International Drone Racing Competition at Avalon Air Show in Melbourne, Lewis has and continues to wow the Australian Defence Force with his capabilities and passion in this field.

Northpine couldn’t be more proud of Lewis and look forward to continuing to follow his Drone Racing journey.
