Year 9 Geography Excursion

Monday, 10/09/2018 Posted by: Marketing

For Year 9’s Geography excursion this term, we were lucky to be able to visit an active local raspberry farm, Paradise Fruit Farm Burpengary. As we have been learning about biomes and the reliability of our food sources, visiting a local farm really helped the Year 9s to develop their observational skills. It also enabled them to connect to what they have been learning. There was a lot of information about new farming technologies, and how interconnected the world is becoming, even with something as small as what goes on our plate. The people who spoke to us at the farm really knew what they were talking about, and really showed us the passion that they have for their work. Overall it was a lot of fun, and it was a great opportunity to see a lot of what we have been learning about in the classroom in a real-life setting.
