On Monday, 25 June, Northpine was able to compete against the other SDA schools in the South Queensland area in the ASSA Soccer Championships. The day brought excellent conditions for our student athletes who had been training hard for the event. Throughout the rounds Northpine looked as if they would make it through in all four division to the final. Our Junior girls narrowly missed the finals on a countback. All other teams made it through to the finals and there was fantastic competition from both sides with nail biting finishes. Well done to Brisbane Adventist College who won all three of those finals! There are days in life that help us to learn humility, and this was one of those days. The staff were so proud of the efforts and sportsmanship of our students on the day as they accepted defeat with integrity. Well done to Sophie Brockhurst who won MVP for the senior girls and a special mention to standout players Alex Pettifer (Junior Girls), Dominique Earnest (Junior Boys) and Toya Anekwe (Senior Boys), who were outstanding all day.
